Lee’s Summit police seek witnesses in fatal head-on crash Saturday night


Lee’s Summit police said they’re looking for people who may have seen a fatal head-on crash Saturday night on U.S. 50 near the Chipman Road overpass.The wreck was reported about 10:30 p.m.Investigators said a gray Ford F-150 was heading the wrong way in the westbound lanes and crashed head on with a red Ford F-150 near the bridge. The driver of the red F-150 died at the scene. The driver of the gray Ford F-150 was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.Accident investigators said they want to talk to anyone who may have seen the gray pickup truck driving the wrong way or who may have witnessed the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call traffic investigator Mike Perkins at 816-969-1670.

The driver of the red F-150 died at the scene. The driver of the gray Ford F-150 was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Accident investigators said they want to talk to anyone who may have seen the gray pickup truck driving the wrong way or who may have witnessed the crash.
