Police say a carjacking suspect was shot by an officer as he fled from officers in the area of 18th St. and Parallel Parkway in Kansas City, Kansas Saturday afternoon.KCKPD tells KMBC 9 a car matching the description of a vehicle stolen Thursday in Kansas City, Kansas was seen in Kansas City, Missouri Sunday, with a person matching the carjacking suspect inside. Kansas City, Missouri Police began a pursuit and the driver refused to stop. The chase crossed state lines into Kansas City, Kansas, and KCPD was granted permission to continue their pursuit into Kansas. The suspect stopped behind a BP gas station at 18th and Parallel, got out of the vehicle and ran from police. An officer fired their weapon, shooting the suspect. Police have not confirmed which department the officer works for. Police rendered first aid at the scene and the suspect was taken to a hospital. No updates have been given on the person’s condition. Police have not confirmed whether or not the suspect had a firearm. Kansas City, Kansas Police, Kansas City, Missouri Police and the Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Officer all responded to the scene.
